Hmm. It looks like we've got to kick this community off, don't we? Since I'm the maintainer of this community, it only makes sense that I'm the first one to post, doesn't it?

So, here it goes. I'll show you the first chapter of the full-length Camp Rock fic I'm working on, and if you like it, I'll start posting the rest. :)

(And please comment if you like it? Thanks!)

Title: No Way to Hold It In
Author: [info]callistahogan
Rating: PG
Warnings: excessive sappiness
Disclaimer: I do not own anything. This is just my take on what should have happened at the end of Camp Rock, and I'm only "borrowing" the characters, songs, etc. for my own use during the story. The song "This Is Me" by Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas is at the beginning of this story, and I definitely do not own it.
Summary: At the end of Shane and Mitchie's song, what would have happened if they had kissed? Shane and Mitchie leaned forward just a bit more at the end of their song... and their feelings for each other, and for music, suddenly changed forever.

This is me...

Mitchie Torres finished her song, putting her entire heart and soul into it. Her arms went up, her voice grew louder, and she never wanted the song to end. She slowly lowered her arms, looking out over the audience.

Only to hear another voice join in.

You're the voice I hear inside my head
The reason that I'm singing

Mitchie looked up—she recognized that song.

Shock and surprise registered in her heart and most likely showed on her face, but she didn't care. All she could concentrate on was that song, the song Shane was singing for her—no, about her.

I need to find you...
I gotta find you...

Before she knew it, Mitchie was walking toward him, walking down the steps, her heart beating loudly in her chest. She couldn't believe this. She couldn't believe the girl with the amazing voice Shane had been looking for was her.

You're the missing piece I need
The song inside of me

The emotions inside Mitchie boiled over. A great smile stretched across her face, and she began singing, happiness exploding in her chest.

I need to find you

As their voices harmonized together, Mitchie walked toward him faster than ever, wanting to reach him. Shane moved toward her as well, both of their voices ringing with power and emotion.

I gotta find you

They reached each other.

This is real
This is me

Mitchie put emphasis on those two sentences—this was where she was supposed to be, this was her. Here, in this very moment, she was real. No more lies, just plain Mitchie.

I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be now

Shane joined in once more, his eyes meeting hers.

I'm gonna let the light shine on me
Now I've found who I am

Oh, that's never been more true... Mitchie thought, her voice mingling with Shane's. She closed her eyes to allow herself to sing louder.

There's no way to hold it in

She opened her eyes once more, gazing into Shane's. His smile was electrifying, dominating his whole face, and she knew that hers was as big, if not bigger.

No more hiding who I wanna be

This is me, this is real, she thought, wanting to communicate that to Shane. She was not lying here, this was her, and she was definitely not going to ever lie to him again. She was going to be true from now on and never hide a part of herself as big as this again.

(This is me)
You're the missing piece I need
The song inside of me

Her voice was defeaning even to her own ears, but somehow, it mingled with Shane's, adding to his, bringing out his voice, and she couldn't help wanting to be as true as possible.

(This is me, yeah)
You're the voice I hear inside my head
The reason that I'm singing

Mitchie felt those words—"this is me, you're the voice I hear inside my head, the reason that I'm singing"—in the very depths of her heart, and she never wanted to song to end, even though she knew it must.

Now I've found who I am
There's no way to hold it in
No more hiding who I wanna be

As the song wound to a close, Mitchie's hand rose as Shane's did.

This is me

Mitchie and Shane's hands mirrored each other, and then touched. An electric shock spread through Mitchie's body as Shane's fingers tangled through hers, and she hardly noticed that the song had ended, that people were clapping, that her smile was stretching across her face larger than it had ever been. She was too immersed in Shane's eyes, in looking at him.

I want to kiss him.

That thought had hardly registered in her mind before she leaned forward, her lips meeting Shane's in a soft, hesitant kiss. Their clasped left hands moved closer to their bodies, and Shane's right moved behind her neck, behind her hair, as he gently, but insistently, pulled her closer. Mitchie let the kiss linger for as long as possible, then slowly broke away, slightly breathless, her cheeks red.

Yet she didn't notice all that as she looked at him.

"Wow," Mitchie whispered. "Thank you."

Shane smiled. "No," he whispered back, wrapping his arms around her in a hug. "Thank you."

That was simply adorable! I loved it. I'd like to see where this is going, see what happens to them once they leave Camp Rock and go on to thier normal lives. I'm thinking I'm going to try to write a little ficlet tonight to post here. :] You've inspired me!
